Day 5 (Vol. 2) (Category:  Vision)

Today’s Reading: Gen. 13-15, Matt. 5:1-26

Today’s Reflection: Gen. 13:14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:.

Revelation comes in sequence. I couldn’t help but notice that it wasn’t until after the Lord had removed Abram from his homeland and kindred, and even after Lot was separated from him, that the Lord opened his eyes to what He had in store for him. God always waits until the timing is right before He reveals to you the next step in your journey with Him. Several factors are involved in the process, and everything must be in its proper place before it is even relevant to your ambitions in life. For example, God first had to get Abram in the right place. Your place is important because, depending upon where you are, your perspective could be off. Had the Lord tried to show Abram the vision too soon, Abram may not have been able to see it. So, the Lord ever so graciously put him in the right place at the right time, so that when He spoke to him and said, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look,” Abram would be able to see what it was that God needed for him to see, from the perspective in which God needed him to see it. Perspective is so important, because everything changes when your perspective changes! Let’s take a closer look. Not only does your place affect your perspective, but the people around you also affect your perspective. God not only had to put Abram in the right place, but there were people in his life that were a hindrance to his perspective. Imagine if God had spoken to Abram about giving him the land during the time in which Lot’s herdsmen and his herdsmen were fighting over the land. This would have possibly been a stumbling block to Abram’s ability to believe God for such a promise. So, God waited until Lot was out of the way, and then He gave him the promise. The timing was perfect, so that the Word could be spoken in just the right place, and at just the right time, so that Abram could believe God, and that God could continue to work through Abram’s faith. And so it is with us! If you will pay close attention, you too will notice just how carefully God tends to the details in your life, thus enabling you to receive His Word and fulfill His purpose for you. Trust His timing!
